nick's story of the seed

Today I interviewed Nick and here are some of the questions I asked him:

Bao: What have you learned?
Nick: "I learned how to plant a plant."

Bao: What surprised or amazed you?
Nick: "How big our plant grew. "

Bao:  made you laugh?
Nick: "when we went out side and saw how big our plant was."

Bao: What made you pause and think a little deeper?
Nick: "how many species of plants there are."

Bao: What questions do you have about things you observed or experienced in the garden?
Nick: "that some plants are bigger than other."

About our Project

The purpose of this project is for students ,such as our selves, to learn about the environment we live in, and how plants are able to grow in this environment. We have planted a Kale plant in the school's garden and will study it's progress as it grows though out the year. Each time we go out into the garden and record data it helps us understand how nature prospers in our garden and what factor s are affected in a good way and which factors are affected in a negative way. This lab is helping many students in this class understand how nature works in the different environment.

blog post #4

1/ Abiotic factors: temperature; the weather is very hot in some of these days.
Biotic factors: Grass growing next to the plant; a lot of them are growing next to our plant and i think they are taking our plant's resources.

2/ As if now, our plant is in a very competitive life because there are so many grass growing next to our plant.

3/ Well, of course, the winner would be determined base on how much resources the took and some time you find it hard to answer because they might have an equal amount of population.

4/ Parasitism because the plant is killing our plant but trying to hang on so the can get the water that our plant getting feed.

5/ Our plants is an example of a secondary succession.

Biogeochemical Cycles and Our Plants

1/ My plant has been growing quite a bite, it is now 4 inches and the plant is all green and in good shape.

2/ My plant has participated in the water cycle since it helps with the transpiration part by getting water and then limited them as heat into the atmosphere.

3/ the plant role: photosynthesis and respiration.

4/ I don't think our plant has participated in any kind of nitrogen cycle.

Usually it just my brothers and my dad who would acctually went and collect the coffe because I was still small so I’m just often be standing around maybe climbing up the trees tolook at the sky and spented a good afternoon sleeping and people would end up go finding me. After a harsh day of collecting coffe and finding me, mom always cook a hot delicious meal full of soup and noodles.
